Professor Paul G Maropoulos

Professor Paul Maropoulos is the Pro-Vice-Chancellor Research and Enterprise of Aston University. He is Professor of Manufacturing Engineering with a strong research record in manufacturing process planning, measurement enabled production and digital manufacturing technologies with funding from EPSRC, Innovate UK, Industry and EU, including ERDF. He is a Chartered Engineer, a Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) and the incoming Chair of the IMechE’s Manufacturing Industries Division Board. He has a strong international profile as founder and Chairman of the “Digital Enterprise Technology” series of International Conferences; the 9th International Conference will be held in Nanjing China in the period 29-31 March 2016. He is an elected Fellow of the International Academy of Production Engineering (CIRP), the leading international academy for manufacturing research. His current activities and interests include defining strategic models and concepts for enhanced University-Business collaboration and promoting technological innovation and knowledge transfer to industry and SMEs at regional and national levels.
