The Product:

BSEEN (Birmingham Skills for Enterprise and Employability Network) offers students and graduates a great package of intensive start-up support for new ventures. Successful participants benefit from a variety of workshops, networking opportunities, tailored mentoring, grant and work space at Birmingham Science Park Aston, Birmingham City University or the University of Birmingham.

BSEEN, part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund, is a collaborative initiative between Aston University, University of Birmingham and Birmingham City University.

What makes BSEEN unique:

BSEEN is able to offer a free service to students and graduates living in the West Midlands.

The BSEEN story so far:

BSEEN previously ran as a 17-month pilot project from November 2009 to March 2011, it supported over 350 graduates and students, 90 business start-ups and helped to create at least 30 new businesses in Birmingham.

Based on the success of this pilot BSEEN was refunded in November 2012 by the European Regional Development Fund.

When and why BSEEN moved to Birmingham Science Park:

BSEEN is a West Midlands project aimed at retaining graduates in the region, increasing the skill level of the workforce and increasing innovation and enterprise across the region, using proven entrepreneurship.

BSEEN offers support to undergraduates and graduates who live in the West Midlands.

Birmingham Science Park is the ideal central location for the BSEEN.  It has easy access to the region and has great onsite facilities. It is the ideal space for entrepreneurs to share ideas and skills.
