During 2013 the West Midlands Regional Innovation Centre had a wide range of start-ups all working within the low carbon arena. These companies have benefited from being involved with the Climate-KIC accelerator programme in the West Midlands. See below for more information and case studies.

Blue Planet Hydrogen, run by Ben Evans, is  a company looking to test and promote a highly innovative hydrogen energy generation technology through selling bespoke test-equipment (patent pending) to universities as a first step. Further phases will be based on the test-findings and may result in product development of different applications of the technology.

The company was initially founded in 2009, but has not been trading. Ben was selected onto the low carbon incubator programme to allow him to further develop his proposition with universities and other potential customers.
