As a company Mobile Fun specialise in mobile device accessories and have a huge range, which is built up through its relationships with 170+ global suppliers. It is often first to market with the latest accessories for mobile devices, ship to customers in over 50 countries and have dedicated language websites for over 30 countries.
The Mobile Fun story so far:
The company was founded in 2000 as a retailer of mobile accessories and mobile downloads.
As Mobile Fun grew, it needed warehouse space, so the management team decided to make Birmingham its HQ. By building relationships with a global supplier base, Mobile Fun was able to source accessories quickly when new mobile devices were made available. This speed to market generated early success and saw the company make the Sunday Times Tech Track 100 in 2006.
With UK sales strong, Mobile Fun opened its first international store in Hamburg, Germany in 2008, and second in France in 2010.
In 2009, the retailer made its first move to launch a brand for complementary products with GearZap.com, which sells tablet and netbook accessories. As part of the company’s strategy to provide accessories for all electronic devices, GearZap.com was joined in 2010 by GamingZap.com and in 2011 by LoveCases.co.uk.
Mobile Fun has continued its international growth by opening offices in Australia, Spain and the USA. 2012 was a phenomenal year for expansion with 22 new international websites added to the company’s online retail portfolio.
The retailer’s sales, product range, innovative ecommerce platform, website design and usability have been recognised by a series of major awards including Mobile News’ Online Retailer of the Year in 2011 and 2012.
Accessories are still shipped all over the world from its warehouse in Birmingham and in October 2013, the company announced its second office at Birmingham Science Park Aston.
Now active in over 30 countries, Mobile Fun is looking to expand by setting up presence in 50 countries and launching a distribution business in 2014.

Mobile Fun moved in October 2013 – the time the company was growing and needed the space to hire more people for our international hub. Mobile Fun will soon reach 100 people and needed the space and the facilities. The opening of the second office in Birmingham is a major step in its rapid expansion. Mobile Fun is entering an exciting phase as it’s newly established international websites are performing strongly, and the expanding team will strengthen the international footprint further.
By tapping into the international graduate and student population, as well as recruiting talented employees across e-commerce roles, Mobile Fun will be able to secure the talent needed to maintain its market-leading position.
