LAUNCH Presents: GamesLab with Creative England

LAUNCH has partnered with Creative England and KPMG to deliver GamesLab West Midlands meet-up; attendees will be introduced to GamesLab’s national masterclass programme, and will learn about the second round of GamesLab West Midlands funding, which is launching this June
Working with emerging and established companies GamesLab is designed to aid and sustain the growth of the region’s burgeoning games’ industry through the development of innovative games and IP.

Player Research are industry-leading playtesting and user research specialists. Clients employ their understanding of players and their cutting-edge research labs to gather actionalble feedback on game usability and the player experience, contributing toward the development of truly successful games. Every iOS game Player Research has worked on has made the front page of the Apple App Store and GamesLab are fortunate to have Graham secured as a workshop speaker to share his wealth of industry knowledge
Steve Stopps, Director of Arch Creatives and Founder & CEO at Kumotion
Throughout Creative England’s national masterclass programme, Steve will be running sessions on SCRUM Management techniques. In his experience, “Scrum seems to be one of the most widely used, yet most misunderstood project management methodologies.” Steve’s session will be a lively and engaging mix of practical exercises, theory and stories from the frontline. It will help delegates understand why it works and clear up some of the myths and misconceptions surrounding this method of development.
Jaspal Sohal, Head of Games and Digital, Creative England
Jaspal will be discussing the upcoming funding opportunities from GamesLab as well as giving details of the upcoming national masterclasses, which in addition to featuring classes on SCRUM Management and Player Research will also include sessions on Narrative Storytelling and Audio Design.
