Taking your Innovation to the NHS

This breakfast session will look at how the NHS is building and supporting a strong innovation community.
How it is designed for frontline clinicians and industry, service managers and the public. It is for anyone who wants to develop, implement and spread innovations in health and care.
Rob will take you through how to collaborate with the Centre for integration of Medicine and Innovative Technologies (CIMIT).

Rob is part of the Innovation Team which acts as an internal innovation expert consultancy partner to the Medical Directorate and wider NHS England. He will take you through how the Innovation Team is enabling and supporting NHS England to ramp up the pace and scale of change and innovation, in order to enable the commissioning system to deliver better outcomes for patients and improve productivity.
Points to be covered are
- The national strategies linked to the Outcomes Framework,
- Partnership working with industry, and
- Technical and commercial expertise on generation, identification, adoption and diffusion of innovative ideas, products and technologies.

Rob works across the NHS and with industry to support the implementation of high impact innovations which demonstrate significant benefits to patients.
He works closely with industry to deliver innovations in Medical Devices, Diagnostics, Pharmaceuticals and Service Improvement. Rob can access and utilise the world leading knowledge, capabilities and skills of NHS professionals to support the implementation of innovation within the NHS. His aim being to deliver on “Innovation Health and Wealth” which encourages the spread of innovation at scale and pace across the NHS whilst supporting wealth creation in the UK.
