Steve Taylor
Technical Consultant and Software Developer, Founder and CTO of Avastec

Bio:

Steve first cut his teeth back in 1999 as a user interface designer working in the eCommerce and tourism sectors. He quickly moved into web development and joined Pendragon as a programmer on their “tins” team and one of the first companies to sell cars online in the UK. During his time at Pendragon, Steve created the company’s extranet, hundreds of dealer websites and the marketing module of their dealer management system.

Steve left Pendragon as a team leader and joined his first marketing agency where he gained experience in managing projects and clients. As the sole employee, Steve was tasked with building a team of developers from scratch whilst bringing in new business and managing existing clients.

Steve continued his career in digital agencies as a Technical Director where he has provided best practices, introduced new processes and procedures, and strengthened teams. During this time Steve has worked with brands such as P&G, eBay, Disney, Warrior Sports, Britvic, Channel 4 and Lucozade to name a few.

Steve has continued to be hands on with development and enjoys programming with the latest technologies. His experience in design, IA, UX. client and server side programming, project management and his business acumen gives him a unique blend of skills and knowledge that can help any business. Due to the mass variety of projects that Steve has been involved with, he has covered many different industries and sectors but specialises in automotive, retail and FMCG.

Steve is now embarking on his own venture where he’s looking to develop products, provide consulting services and invest in early stage startups.
