Innovation Birmingham Campus-based Breaking Free Group – creators of a pioneering digital healthcare platform targeting addictive behaviours – has appointed a new CTO following a successful year which saw the team grow by 20%.
Kingsley Pinto, who joined Breaking Free Group in November 2015 has been promoted to Chief Technology Officer. This follows the recent appointment of Senior Front End Developer, Alberto Centelles and Full Stack Developer, Norberto Martinez, with further technical hires expected in coming months.
Breaking Free Group created the world’s first online healthcare intervention programme in prisons, in partnership with the Ministry of Justice and NHS England. The product, Breaking Free Health & Justice, is an evidence-based addiction treatment programme enabling people to overcome alcohol and drug dependence.
This announcement also follows an impressive year in which Breaking Free Group received the West Midlands Academic Heath Science Network Digital Health Innovation Award and entered into a number of new long-term partnerships with leading drug and alcohol charities, including South East-based Open Road in the last month.
Jonathan Ward, Managing Director at Breaking Free Group, said: “Kingsley is an outstanding talent and his knowledge and experience has been of significant benefit to our team. His appointment, alongside that of Alberto and Norberto, is demonstrative of our growing success and influence in the digital health sector and they will all be instrumental in supporting the company as it continues to go from strength-to-strength.
“Following the recent launch of the new Breaking Free Online upgrade, which includes many enhanced features for both users and commissioners and with a number of exciting new contract wins in the pipeline, we look forward to further expanding our team in the very near future.”
