Midland entrepreneur Mike Bandar, has been named one of the most successful business leaders in the UK as part of this year’s Maserati 100.
Based at Innovation Birmingham Campus, Mike is co-founder of www.HopperHQ.com; the world’s first fully automated scheduling tool for Instagram. The user friendly platform enables individuals, brands and agencies to schedule content for a specific date and time, similar to popular applications such as Hootsuite and Buffer, as well as allowing users to manage their Instagram from mobile or desktop and enable pictures to be uploaded from multiple sources, such as Dropbox, Google Drive and a user’s own files. Hopper is the latest business spinout from Mike’s r’s portfolio company, Turn Partners.
The Maserati 100, which was launched by Italian car manufacturer, Maserati and the Centre for Entrepreneurs (CFE), recognises the UK’s most successful business leaders, who generously give time and resources to support the next generation of young entrepreneurs.
Members of the public were invited to nominate individuals, with the final Maserati 100 list curated by a panel of experts including; previous Maserati 100 awardees, CFE’s board of advisors and serial entrepreneur and Maserati ambassador, Luke Johnson. A variety of sectors featured in the list including; technology, fashion, food and drink, travel, events and sport.
Mike is an active member of multiple organisations including the New Entrepreneurs Foundation, The Kairos Society, and Aston Entrepreneurs Society. He is also part of the committee for this year’s Birmingham Young Entrepreneur of the Year awards, the Institute of Directors in the West Midlands, Silicon Canal as well as providing training, mentoring and support to entrepreneurs looking to start and grow their businesses.

In 2015; Peter Jones CBE, Sir Richard Branson and Michael Acton Smith OBE, all featured on the Maserati top 100 list. This year; the founder of LoveFilm, Simon Calver; founder of Innocent, Richard Reed and British information technology pioneer, Dame Stephanie Shirley were all recognised for their contributions to entrepreneurship.
Hopper is one of 18 early stage tech companies receiving support from Innovation Birmingham’s Entrepreneurs for the Future (e4f) Inspire programme, which delivers a series of workshops, keynote events, entrepreneur dinners, off-site visits, funded internship/apprenticeship placements, and peer group sessions, in order to accelerate the growth of entrepreneurial tech companies. Over 120 tech start-ups have been incubated by the e4f programme since November 2009, with over £10 million raised in initial investment rounds.
