Titan Partnership STEM Fair – A unique experience!

Titan Partnership Ltd is pleased to announce, with the support of the Innovation Birmingham Campus and a number of employers, a new and exciting approach to engaging and enthusing young people in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).

Titan Partnership, Ltd is a unique cross-phase educational partnership of Children’s Centres, nurseries, schools, colleges and universities. The majority of the Partnership’s members are located in the north-west of the city serving the communities around Handsworth, Soho, Aston, Lozells, Nechells, Edgbaston and Ladywood.

As part of a ‘raising aspiration’ strategy that encourages young people to aim for higher education or high level employment, the Partnership is organising a STEM Fair that involves young people, companies and colleges/universities coming together to share and celebrate high quality STEM learning, teaching and innovation. The Fair is a mix of inter-active displays and presentations from schools, colleges and universities alongside companies who are the cutting edge of scientific, technological and engineering developments.

On four occasions during the day representatives from Samsung, BT, Virgin Media and Siemens will present to an audience of 8-21 year olds the latest technological, scientific and engineering developments – the aim being to ‘wow’ the young audience and to influence their thinking, raise their aspirations and to inform them of the changing world and employment opportunities ahead of them.

The event will be held in the Atrium of the Faraday Wharf building at the Innovation Birmingham Campus, with opening speeches 9.45-10.00 a.m. Currently the event will be opened by Mr Ron Skelton, Principal of Broadway Academy and Chair of Titan Partnership Ltd and Hugo Russell from the Innovation Birmingham Campus. Lunch for invited dignitaries will be held at 12.00 p.m. Invitations have gone to a number of dignitaries from the City Council, companies, universities, the Local Enterprise Partnership and to other interested organisations.
