Connected devices specialist, LightwaveRF, has announced that Amazon’s Eco Alexa voice control is to be used on their products, enabling users to remotely control light, heat, power and security through an application.
The application allows LightwaveRF to operate its range of devices or link to other platforms, including Amazon’s Echo, and connects to the Alexa hands-free voice service to play music, provide information, news, sports results and weather.
Since the UK launch of Amazon Echo and Alexa in late September, the company has been working with Amazon to achieve voice control of the full LightwaveRF product range.
During the year, the AIM-listed company also invested in its cloud platform allowing it to integrate with other systems including IFTTT, a tool that allows users to create changes on other web services and Google Nest, a heating control system.
Founder and Chief Technology Officer at LightwaveRF, John Shermer, said: “We now have a powerful cloud platform that we can easily link with other major connected home brands. The combination of Alexa voice control and LightwaveRF massively improves the user experience for both Amazon Echo and LightwaveRF customers.”
