The Innovation Birmingham Campus has partnered with global search engine Google in a bid to equip the region’s entrepreneurs with the digital skills needed to launch and run successful businesses.
Campus experts at the leading location for Birmingham’s digital and technology community shared advice with entrepreneurs, start-ups and corporates on Monday 18th September as part of a collaborative meet-up hosted at the Google Digital Garage, a hub temporarily offering digital coaching in Birmingham’s city centre.
Amongst the diverse group of attendees were representatives from train operating company and Innovation Birmingham partner London Midland, as well as award-winning global social media influencer and Birmingham’s Future Face for Arts and Culture Amrit Singh. Ronan Harris, Google UK&I Managing Director said:
“In the digital age, a basic understanding of how the online world works is useful; and when it comes to new business, it’s essential. We are delighted to collaborate with Innovation Birmingham to ensure every entrepreneur has the digital skills needed to grow their business or launch the next big idea."
The Google Digital Garage opened its Birmingham hub in July and is set to continue offering beginner to intermediate level courses to the city’s tech community until January 2018.
As part of its community of over 1000 techies, the Innovation Birmingham Campus has incubated 140 start-up companies to-date across its three business support programmes catering for early-stage start-ups, scale ups and environmentally focused ventures.
