Innovation Birmingham-based fitness testing company Archon Combine is set to launch the next phase of its solution – creating a dedicated fitness testing platform for personal trainers that tracks an individual’s physical variables like height, weight, age and gender when measuring success against fitness goals.
Archon Combine will be welcoming leading organisations, practitioners, academics, awarding bodies and service providers across the fitness industry as it launches its new Fit-Pro subscription software at Innovation Birmingham’s flagship iCentrum building on Tuesday (26th March).
The software company is part of the first cohort of businesses to be accepted onto Gymshark’s pioneering #LiftYourBusiness support programme, which is delivered with Innovation Birmingham as part of the Serendip Smart City Incubator.
Accepted onto the programme designed to accelerate the growth of promising digital technology companies in September 2018, Archon Combine has been working closely with Gymshark to refine its software and position the product successfully within the fitness industry.
As well as unveiling its new solution on Tuesday, Archon will also be conducting a live integration with a leading global personal trainer management application on the day. Co-Founder and Co-Director Katie Ford said:
“Over the last six months, Archon has worked tirelessly to create the perfect personal trainer fitness testing platform. We have teamed up with Gymshark as part of its sports tech incubator at Innovation Birmingham, which has triggered lots of new and exciting plans for the platform and our partners over the coming months.
“Gymshark has played an important role in our development so far, they have supported us from a marketing, brand and activation perspective. The way in which they disrupted their industry is exactly the type of strategy that we are about to employ throughout fitness.”
Archon’s software is designed to tell its users when they hit a personal best, providing information on recommended steps for improvement and mapping progress to-date.
Alongside detailed advice and guidance sits a bank of video tutorials to ensure users conduct exercises and activities safely, whilst also quantifying performance and goals based on an individual’s unique physical attributes – as opposed to comparing performance with a person with different physical attributes such as height, weight and even wingspan.
The brand has built partnerships with a selection of accrediting bodies, fitness networks and industry leaders like Gymshark, British Rowing, My MT Hub, British Weight Lifting and the University of Salford. Katie Ford added:
“When the fitness industry finally understood that BMI wasn’t the way to assess someone’s body fat, it gave people a way to try to understand their own bodies. Now there is a way for people to finally understand what their body can do. Gone are the personal bests of the past, the comparisons and the feeling of inadequacy that comes with measuring just weight lifted, time completed or speed.
“Archon can help you to create friendly competition, selecting exercises or activities that suit your needs or preferences. It’s ideal for gym goers who just want more information or Personal Trainers who want to build great programs for their clients, or even sports people.”
